17 days LEFT! :D

17 days left~! Today we had a formation session and the focus of today's topic was on teamwork. Teamwork is really important as we would need to work together alot in the mission trip. A question was posed to us today: What would God say about us as a team? It really made us reflect on what we have done so far as a group, on how we communicate and interact with each other. Sometimes we lose focus when in a discussion, while at other times, we are too noisy and loud, annoying the people around us. This could really affect the efficiency when we do work and disrupt our development in our relationship with God.

Today's gospel was short and sweet and it was taken from Luke 21:1-4:
When Jesus looked up he saw some wealthy people
putting their offerings into the treasury
and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins.
He said, "I tell you solemnly,
this poor widow put in more than all the rest;
for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth,
but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood."

We are fortunate to be living in Singapore, as compared to the people living in Bicol. Everything that we want, we can easily obtain. Have we really done enough to help those in need? When we go to Bicol, it probably will not be an easy journey. We will be in unfamiliar territory and we wont have the comforts of our own home. Some of us may complain that it is difficult to stay there. But this is the least we can do for the people there. We would only be there for 10 days while the people there have to spend their whole lives there! So let us put in more effort in this mission trip and do our best to bring joy to the people there, for this is the least we can do for them.

We pray that we can have better teamwork to serve God better, and to have the strength to do more than just the minimum. We also pray for Uncle Al who is sick and we hope that he can get well soon, and join us again in doing God's work.
