Just 40 days before the advance party departs for Bicol. We still have lots to do to prepare ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually for our ten-day journey there. Are we participating in team activities? Are we getting more familiar with the other team members? Do we take note of the many times that God has helped us in our preparations?
Meanwhile, here are some pictures from our recce team of Uncle Anthony, Auntie Gina and Zerimar who are now close to wrap up their whirlwind tour of the mission area.
This is one of the features of Kawa Kawa Hill - just 15 minutes from our hostel. On the picture is the camp and adventure site which overlooks Guinobatan and Ligao City. It has recently hosted the ASEAN Scouts Jamboree. On the other part of the Hill is the "larger-than-life" Stations of the Cross, as well as rest areas.

Mayon Volcano viewed from the highway. The Bicol people treat this volcano with utmost respect and admiration, and perhaps love. After all, it dominates the Bicol landscape.
Uncle Anthony pays a courtesy call to the Mayor of Camalig town, Mr Carlos Irwin Baldo. Mr Baldo has assured us of the local government's assistance in our programmes within the town, including visits to Camalig North Elementary School, and the relocation area of Tagaytay up in the mountains in the west.
This is the main entrance to Quirangay Elementary School, in Camalig town. It is a short trek from the town centre towards the sprawling plains that slope upwards to the lower reaches of the volcano.
