WEEE~~~!!! yes! We all did well for today's concert! A round of applause for all those who helped and also came tonight :D So, today's concert had performance by the 4 Avenues, our cool pianists - Cecilia, Samantha and Brandon, Ben Byrne and his funny story, Natalie Huang and her band, Uncle Al's awesome singing plus his friends Anthony Chong, Desmond Seah and Eunice Ong, NTU undergrad Eadelin, Amanda Er's melodious voice etc etc. Oh well, all that I can say was that this concert was totally FUN!
The 4 Avenues (featuring L9 student Natasha Wong on the bass!) were great and they seemed to have showed off their professionalism in performing on stage as they didn't seem to be nervous at all (Y) They also sang two of my favourite songs - 'Somewhere Only We Know' and 'The Only Exception'. XD Natalie Huang and her band were awesome too! And I was so excited to be able to see people playing the drums! IT SOUNDED REALLY COOL!!! And the lead vocalist's voice was really lovely!
Our 3 L9 pianists - all from the Mission Team, came on next. Cecilia Wang, played "If We Hold On Together." She also played (Imagine) accompanied by Uncle Al's vocals. And I remembered the L9s who came to support us, singing to the "Woo~woo~woo~" part, which was really funny! Then, Brandon Koh played to two songs too, one of which is 'Unfaithful' by Rihanna and again, I can't remember the other song. SORRY! Samantha Gray, too, was awesome! She could play any song by ear, so it was even more cool! She played Taylor Swift's Haunted, Back to December and... OH NO! I CAN'T REMEMBER AGAIN!!! SORRY!!!!
Also, Amanda Er sang to a very relaxing(?) song called 'In the Arms of An Angel'. Her awesome singing made the song sound even better (Y) Uncle Al's daughter Eadelin (7am Choir), also sang Damien Rice's 'Wild and Free', accompanied by Uncle Al on the guitar. They sounded really coordinated :P and her voice sounded really cute :P hahas :P
Uncle Al sang two songs - 'Golden Slumbers' and 'Alone Again (Naturally)'. While he sang the first one solo, he was joined by Anthony Chong (7am choir) on the saxophone and Eunice Ong (RCIA) on the cajon. They were joined by Desmond Seah (HALMM) on the keyboard for 'Morning Dance'. They sounded really harmonious together and the music was really really AWESOME! I felt like I was in a pub or a high class restaurant. Hahas! Because I always watch in the movies, where there's always a saxophonist playing his saxophone in a pub or like some super high class restaurant. :P Anyways, the music they played was really nice. I felt so relaxed.
Finally, Ben Byrne was a little poor thing as his friends had so-called left him, so he had to do something for the audience and it was totally impromptu. He ended telling us a really funny story which everyone in the attic burst out in laughter! He told us about a time when he went to the World Youth Day in Spain, and when people looked at him, they sort of gave him weird looks because of his hair! LOLs! They also asked him where he was from and stuffs and they sort of didn't believe him when he said he was an Asian and was from Singapore! They then asked him for his name and when he said, 'Ben', they went closer to him and asked him what his name was again. And he said, 'My name is Ben.' and they were like OH... LOLs!!! But finally, he found out from someone that 'ben' actually means 'come' in Spanish. In fact, the Spanish word 'ven aqui' means come and 'ven' usually sounds like 'ben' when spoken.
Mission tripper Maria Chuah and Abraham Gagamonster, both from L9, were the event's emcees.
Well, that's sort of all that had happened in today's concert! Oh, and, we said a thank-you prayer at the end of the concert! SO.... That's it! Today's concert was really very AWESOME & FUN!!! :DDD Anyways, let's pray that the concert tomorrow will be as good as today or even better! :D
